Biography

Since childhood, Ali has always been fascinated by the world of entertainment and the integral role that TV presenters play. From watching the likes of Cat Deeley, Ant & Dec, Michael Parkinson and Lorraine Kelly she knew this was the career path she wanted to take. At the age of 14 Ali was discovered by PACE youth theatre while on work experience at their offices. After only 3weeks she had her first on-screen appearance in the BBC children's TV show "UKOOL". In just a few years she had been the “Secret Wag” of Andrew Murray in BBC Scotland’s Soap Rivercity, been employed as a dancer for The BRIT Awards and had been signed to Maureen Cairns Agency in Glasgow who currently still represent Ali. She has been in many Magazines and Newspapers from OK to The Daily Record, MCNnews to Warwickshire’s Wedding Magazine from photo shoots to articles on her career as Scotland’s rising TV presenter.

In 2006 at the tender age of 20, the head presenter of Gems TV spotted Ali as her first presenting showreel was being edited. She was invited for a live on air audition and within moments proved herself as a natural in front of the cameras. She was offered a permanent position and contract, which made her the youngest anchor presenter to ever grace the screens of GemsTV. By 2007 Ali was presenting the evening shows for GemsTV on Sky as well as touring Europe as a backing dancer with The Craig McMurdo Floor Show. During 2008 Ali while still presenting on Sky for GemsTV moved to the daytime shows allowing her to enjoy her passion for horse riding and golf. By 2009 after 3years of presenting full time at GemsTV and GemsTV 2, Ali needed a little break away from Shopping TV, while still guest presenting on QVC, Rocks & Co and various music/catwalk shows, she moved back to London to enjoy working on many different projects. Launching new ranges for Christian Dior, Versace, Gucci, Channel & True Religion were brilliant experiences for her.

Alongside the King the Queen of Malaysia, Jimmy Choo OBE and Mr Mohamed Al-Fayed, Ali launched the new Malaysian collection in Harrods Main Window, but all of these wonderful jobs where overshadowed by Mr Simon Cowell’s invite to his 50th Birthday party. Without a doubt highlight of Ali’s year! 2010 started with Ali joining the team at RocksTV as their daytime anchor presenter, once again gracing the screens of Sky & Freeview. Then as RocksTV bought GemsTV she moved back to her original presenting role on GemsTV and successfully launched their new show - Jewellery Maker.

By 2011 Jewellery Maker had won Best Newcomer at the Freesat Awards growing from strength to strength. In January Ali launched GemsTV Extra! GemsTV gained the evening prime time slot on STV, which Ali presented, leading to her featuring in many newspaper articles across Scotland. Ali also began working with Accord Hospice helping to raise awareness and raise money for the Charity. For years along with St Mirren FC Members Club, Ali has been a part of making sure the children at the Hospice have had Christmas Presents. 2012 so far has been a great year for Ali and its only just beginning. In January alone, she became the face of Nottingham City Trams for their 2012 campaign, a four-page spread in Image Magazine, photos for MCNnews, while still presenting her day shifts on GemsTV Extra & Jewellery Maker. She is in training to run in the Paisley 10k to raise money for St Vincent’s Hospice in Ali’s hometown of Renfrewshire.

Ali has since has raked up over 10,000 hours of live presenting, not to mention pre recorded, voice over’s, adverts and much more but she is not even close to reaching her full potential. For such a passionate and ambitious young lady she has only just begun to scratch the surface of what she intends to achieve in her presenting career not to mention her acting ambitions or fund raising goals.

Due to her intense workload, Ali rarely has a moment free, but when she does; she heads home to Scotland to enjoy a "chilly" round of golf with the family as well as taking making good use of her season ticket supporting her local football team, St. Mirren F.C of SPL fame.
